Our first look at the new Jeep electric vehicle

Jeep is pushing its electrification strategy into high gear by giving us a first glimpse of a future jeep electric vehicle that will be coming next year.

Jeep announced the all-new electrified model by releasing two images that show a small electric Jeep SUV that is of the same proportions as the current Jeep Cherokee.

Jeep did not provide any details on this new electric SUV, but the image released shows an SUV that seems to be ready for production. The highlight of the new Jeep electric SUV is that it keeps the traditional jeep design but it adapts it to an electric vehicle format.

We can still see the traditional jeep seven slot grill, but this grill is filled up because electric engines do not need air intakes.

We should learn more about the new Jeep electric SUV in the coming months. Jeep will be pushing full-scale ahead with his electrification strategy, building upon the initial success of the Jeep Wrangler 4xe and the upcoming Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe.

Both are plug-in hybrid versions of two of Jeep’s most popular models. These versions have proven quite popular since launch, specifically the Jeep Wrangler 4xe. As for the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, it should be even more popular when it officially goes on sale soon. It offers all of the luxury, comfort, refinement, capability, and performance of the all-new generation of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, but with the benefits of a plug-in hybrid powertrain.
